PRESS RELEASE:
talkPOPc @ Postmasters Gallery! See, think & talk! Meet the talkPOPc puppet, see art, and talk with a Philosopher in the talkPOPc tent!
Sunday, January 26, 2020 - 12-6PM
Our all day extravaganza of philosophy fabulousness begins with the fun of thinking— the fun of exercising your mind! We at talkPOPc are on our third topic Art as Cognition.
Be part of Building Thought! talkPOPc is public philosophy + socially engaged art. It starts with my rumination on the topic (in both visual and written form) known as the "input" to the project and then opens up to collecting YOUR thoughts by offering participants like you one-on-one talks with talkPOPc Resident Philosophers in our gold talkPOPc tent. Your conversation then becomes an episode on our podcast.
See a performance of the talkPOPc puppet as it expounds philosophy, watch a video and see performance artists play the part of famous philosophers wandering around the gallery spouting profundities!
And of course, drink some wine and have a bite!
Remember, “change happens when people talk.”
talkPOPc founder Dr. Dena Shottenkirk invites Resident Philosopher Vincent Peluce of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and Carolina Flores of Rutgers, New Brunswick to hold gallery conversations with visitors to the exhibition and participants of the event to discuss Art as Cognition using talkPOPc INPUT: artworks and philosophical writings of Dr. Shottenkirk as a jumping off point and backdrop.
